Day 17 Feeling Strong

We had a super awesome time white water rafting with Alpine white water rafting this weekend in Golden, BC. with our kids.  They are 9 & 11 so we could only do a half day due to size restrictions they aren't allowed on the more advanced rapids - but boy was it fun. We stopped along the way & hiked up a waterfall in our wetsuits - which was a first for me & a very memorable experience for our family.
I think if someone had asked to go white water rafting last year...the fear of putting on a wet suit & being in public - doing something physical would have been enough of a deterrent to make me say 'no, that's just not for me'.  Meanwhile, I would have secretly longed to go do it. I know, it seems shallow but as a girl, we all (I) have some body issues. I've decided to do something to help improve mine & it starts with eating better with the 30 day challenge at www.healthyfunkyfoods.com.  Things are looking up.  I feel better, have way more energy,  more confidence & simply a desire to get out & experience life more.  Bring on the wetsuit - I want to live my life & have adventures my family will remember forever.

We packed a cooler full of raw, vegan meals for me from www.healthyfunkyfoods.com & when my family ordered pizza in the hotel room at night I happily enjoyed a delicious stuffed avacado & side salad. The avocado mixture was creamy & crunchy & I was surprised to discover made with apples.  Avocados are one of my all time favourites - in or on anything so I was super happy.
